Our CEO, P. Jayakumar, attended MIPCOM in Cannes, France, where we actively pursued animation service work and co-production opportunities to strengthen our global partnerships. We also focused on acquiring high-quality content for our distribution division while showcasing our own intellectual properties to potential buyers. Additionally, we explored the latest technology trends in the industry to ensure we remain at the forefront of innovation. We had exciting shows like Paddy Paws, Defenders of Imagination, Sunny Side Billy and Issa’s edible adventures as our focus at the event. Our team had exciting meeting with our partners on many projects and we hope to see those materialising soon.

It was a true honor to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlight the Indian Animation and Visual Effects sector as an emerging field during his monthly address, Mann Ki Baat. His recognition of animation underscores its growing importance, and he expressed a desire for our industry to flourish alongside international giants. In his address, he also acknowledged the achievements of renowned animator Harinarayan Rajeev, who has made significant contributions to major Hollywood productions. We are especially proud to share that Harinarayan Rajeev is a former student of Toonz Academy. Earlier this year, he visited us to conduct inspiring sessions for our students and animators, sharing his insights and experiences from the global stage. This recognition from our Prime Minister, coupled with the success stories of our alumni, reinforces the potential of the animation sector in India and motivates us to continue nurturing talent in this vibrant field.
We are partnering with RFK Global, a Saudi Arabia based 3D animation production studio, to distribute ‘MAI: The Teen Superhero Detective' an exhilarating new TV series centred on a teenage girl with extraordinary superpowers. The World is in a digital chaos, MAI arrives to save the World from this mayhem. The show poignantly addresses the societal challenges of self-doubt and mental awareness, making the show resonate with young audiences everywhere as they confront the intricacies of their world. “We are constantly seeking original content with global appeal that connects with audiences, regardless of their age or varied experiences. We have announced a slate of sales to Dolphin Medien GmbH and Sense of Media Limited. The Raccoons, the retro classic from the 80s and 90s created by Kevin Gillis, President & Chief Creative Officer of Run With Us Productions, is all set to enthral the audience in German speaking Europe, consisting of Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland through the Dolphin deal. Toonz have also got the license to distribute the content through Sense of Media Ltd, in CIS and Baltic countries which includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Estonia Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Durga Prasad Dalai, the founder and director of Ele Animation visited Toonz studio to continue discussions regarding on-going projects. Durga being a friend and trusted partner of Toonz, was extended a warm welcome and had discussions with all stakeholders throughout the day. He assessed the progress of various projects that the two studios are partnering in. He visited the studio facilities and met the animators. Toonz distribute the much-loved series Jai Jagannath created by Ele Animation. We are also involved in the co production of Misfit Manor.

Toonz Academy recently hosted an engaging one-day workshop at St. Joseph's College in Changanassery as part of International Animation Day, for students enrolled in BA Animation and Graphic Design, BA Animation and Visual Effects, and MA Animation. Led by industry veterans Johnson Leon, Operations Head, and Vinod A.S., VP Academics at Toonz Academy, the workshop provided students with invaluable insights into the world of animation. The enthusiastic participants were eager to learn from experts with extensive experience in the field. Johnson and Vinod shared their knowledge on various aspects of animation, from creative techniques to industry trends, sparking inspiration and igniting passion among the students. This interactive session allowed participants to ask questions and engage in discussions, making it a truly enriching experience.
